Main features

  • Machinable Metal-Like Repair Finish
  • Non-Sag Rebuilding Putty
  • Room-Temperature Metal Repair

Product Description

LOCTITE EA 3471 is a two-part steel-reinforced epoxy repair compound for rebuilding worn or damaged metal parts. The gray putty mixes at 2.5:1 by volume and provides about 30 minutes of working life at room temperature. After curing at room temperature, it forms a metal-like finish that can be machined, drilled, tapped or filed for repair and restoration work. Applications include non-structural defect repair, tanks, valves, shafts, castings, jigs and fixtures.

Key features

  • Machinable repair finish: Steel-reinforced epoxy cures to a metal-like finish that can be machined, drilled, tapped or filed.
  • Non-sag putty: Mixed gray putty is formulated for controlled placement in metal rebuilding and repair work.
  • Ambient-Cure Working Window: Provides about 30 minutes of working life at room temperature before cure.

Applications

Repairing non-structural defects and rebuilding or repairing tanks, valves, shafts, castings, jigs and fixtures.
