Main features

  • Low-Temperature Heat-Cure Bonding
  • Extended Three-Hour Assembly Window
  • High-Strength Toughened Paste Bonding

Product Description

LOCTITE EA 9380 AERO is a low-temperature-curing, two-part aerospace epoxy paste adhesive for structural bonding with controlled meter-mix or dual-cartridge static-mixer application. Parts A and B mix 100:55 by weight, and the adhesive has a 3-hour working life at 75 deg F in a 0.4 mm layer. The recommended cure range is 70 to 80 deg C for 240 minutes. After a 4-hour cure at 70 deg C, typical tensile lap shear reaches 37 MPa at 25 deg C on 2024-T3 clad aluminum. The paste is used where lower-temperature cure, toughness, and high-strength aerospace bonding are required.

Key features

  • Low-Temperature Cure: The recommended cure range is 70 to 80 deg C for 240 minutes.
  • Thin-Layer Working Life: Working life is 3 hours at 75 deg F in a 0.4 mm layer.
  • Aluminum Lap Shear Strength: Typical tensile lap shear is 37 MPa at 25 deg C on 2024-T3 clad aluminum after a 4-hour cure at 70 deg C.

Applications

Aerospace structural bonding where low-temperature cure, toughness, and high-strength paste-adhesive performance are required.
