- No-Mix Initiator 46 System
Product Description
Permabond TA4246 is a two-part, no-mix toughened acrylic structural adhesive used with Permabond Initiator 46. The adhesive is applied to one surface and the initiator to the other, eliminating premixing while supporting room-temperature assembly. It fills gaps up to 0.5 mm, fixtures aluminum in 1-2 minutes at 23 deg C, and reaches working strength in 15-30 minutes. After a 24-hour cure, typical shear strength is 33-35 N/mm2 on mild steel and 20-30 N/mm2 on aluminum, with 150-180 N/25 mm peel strength. Applications include structural bonding across supported metals, plastics, ceramics, and other substrates.
Key features
- No-Mix Structural Bonding: Separate adhesive and Initiator 46 application eliminates premixing.
- 1-2 Minute Aluminum Fixture: Fixtures gap-free aluminum in 1-2 minutes at 23 deg C.
- High Shear and Peel: Provides 33-35 N/mm2 steel shear and 150-180 N/25 mm aluminum peel strength.
Applications
Applications include structural bonding of supported metals, plastics, ceramics, wood, glass, and composite materials.
